Paris Mexis / Curriculum Vitae
Paris Mexis is a director, designer and writer working in opera, theatre, dance, cinema, television and advertisement, creating shows, exhibitions, corporate events and promotional design.
He is a creative associate of the multi awarded communication design agency Beetroot and an artistic associate of the international performance team ROOTLESSROOT.
Paris is a frequently invited public speaker, he lectures at colleges, universities and conducts seminars and workshops about design, education and performance internationally and he has participated in all the TEDx events in his home-city Athens (TEDx Athens, TEDx Academy and TEDx Youth).
He is a tutor and lecturer at the Athenian Artistic and Technological Group (AKTO) and a communications advisor at the CGS School in Athens.
He is the president of the Greek Theatre Designers Association, a founding member of the non-profit cultural organisation Polyphonica championing equal opportunities in music education, a member of the Greek National Board for Dance and a member of the International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT).
Paris Mexis was born in Athens and studied scenography in London at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (BA Theatre: Design for Performance, MA Scenography) and Prague at Divadelni fakulta Akademie Muzickych Umeni [DAMU] (Opera Design), interior design at the Athenian Artistic and Technological Group (AKTO) and at Middlesex University (BA Interior Design, Prize for Outstanding Performance in 1998 and 1999) and music at the Exemplary Experimental Conservatory in Athens.
